Authorstream

Authorstream is a powerful online presentation sharing engine that allows you to upload presentation with media elements (video and audio). Similar to Slideshare, but you upload the ppt with its audio!

Of course, you can share the presentation or embed it in you blog or site. Just register and upload your stuff from your PC, from gmail, dropbox or Google Drive.

Here you have an example of this powerful tool.

From PDF to Word

Sometimes we have PDF files that we would like to edit, and then, we have to convert them into a doc file. If you haven't got a programme in your computer that helps you do that, you can use an online application to convert that type of files.

Here you have two good possibilities for that.

I have tried some of these applications and I consider they are the best you can find on the Net without registration (No sign up!). Besides, they maintain the tables and images without mistakes.

Thinklink

ThingLink is a platform for creating interactive images and videos for web, social, advertising, and educational channels.

Here you have some good examples of the use of Thinklink in the classroom. Visit them and think on your next thinklink:
  • Eiffel Tower facts

  • Southeast Asia

  • Fun Facts about Famous Landmarks in Europe

  • The Birth of Venus by Sandro Boticelli

  • The Amazon Rainforest

Symbaloo, a smart bookmarking tool

What is Symbaloo?

As they say in their webpage. "Symbaloo is a personal startpage that allows you to easily navigate the web and compile your favorite site all in to one visual interface. Save your bookmarks in the cloud and access them from anywhere with any device".
You can create a free account on Symbaloo and start adding your favourite blocks (tiles) on your own Symbaloo. Choose an icon for each one and publish it.

If you find a Symbaloo made by other user, don't hesitate, take it and edit as if it was yours. That is the remake culture!
You can embed your own Symbaloos in your webpage or blog.

In my opinion, it has a flaw, the fact that you cannot create a colaborative Symbaloo with your students or other teachers, because you can not invite other users to edit it. What a pity!
