Twitter is a new way of communicating. We say "new" but in fact more than 255 million users of Twitter are active in the net monthly.
As a teacher, we should, at least, know how Twitter works. Most of our teenager students use Twitter to communicate. Besides, it is a rich source of teaching materials and an interactive platform for professionals.

Add-ons for Drive

In our seminar we have been seeing some of the add-ons that can be useful for our teaching practice.

  • The Thesaurus is a good tool when writing a text in English.
  • Mind-meister helps us create mind-maps in an easy and fast way.
  • With Texthelp study skills we can underline important parts of a text and share with our students.
Apart from these add-ons, you can chat online with other people that share that document with you and comment on words underlined by you.

QR codes

They come to us from Japan where they are very common. QR is short for Quick Response (they can be read quickly by a cell phone). They are used to take a piece of information from a transitory media and put it in to your mobile phone or tablet. Previously you need to download a qr code reader to your telephone from Google Play, for example QR droid.
We can generate a qr code from a plain text, a url, a sms, a telephone, a location etc. We can use some qr code generator free from the Internet (unitag, qrcode kaywa).

Here I let you a prezzi presentation where you can see school project with qr codes

The browsers we are going to use are Mozilla and Chrome. Each of them has its own extension. We are going to see just a few, but if you surf the extension gallery of your browser, you could find the ideal extension for you
